Every year Highlands Elementary School in North Vancouver celebrates Earth Day with a special all day-event called Ecofest. Students learn about the local environment and the planet through activities like Spuds & Mud, Dr. Junkology and Ready, Set, Recycle. This year WCMRC was asked to take part and we set up an outdoor display of spill response equipment for Ecofest’s Oil Busters station. In the interactive session, students experienced the different ways response organizations protect our marine environment from oil spills. Hope to see everyone again next year!
