What You’ll Do
As a Response Readiness Contractor Specialist, you will:
- Be responsible for sourcing, recruiting, and maintaining the required levels of external contractors as defined by Operations and Response Readiness
- Assist Operations and Training in the planning and scheduling of response contractors, including vessel crews, vessels of opportunity, staging area, and shoreline supervisors for training and exercising.
- Represent WCMRC as the lead in contract negotiation and oversee the administration of contractual records and documentation (WCB Records, Vessel Surveys) within the Contractor Program
- Coordinate with Operations and Logistics to support the planning, scheduling and dispatching of external contractors and equipment for training, exercises, and spill response situations.
- Maintain the Contractor Program database to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
- Support management of contractor training budget development, quarterly reviews, and input on variance reports
- Manage contractor LMS portal for contractor personnel training records and marine tickets.
- Update program documents and procedures to reflect changes and improvements in VOO onboarding, training, and dispatch processes
What You Bring
- Completion of an operations management or business-related post-secondary degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in roles of increasing responsibility related to overseeing the activities of external contractors
- Experience in project management in a marine and/or construction work environment
- Strong computer skills with ability to effectively utilize MS Office applications and other software applications, including the use of mobile devices
Preferred
- Demonstrated ability to analyze information and synthesize findings for practical application, advanced working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
- Strong influencing, negotiating and facilitating skills, with experience participating in contract negotiations
