Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.
WCMRC is currently recruiting for a Maintenance and Engineering Internship to support the operations department at our Coquitlam, BC location.
The responsibilities and duties of this position include:
- Update Planned Maintenance system with accurate inventory levels
- Develop equipment and part lists for vessels
- Perform criticality analysis and develop critical parts list
- Engage with part vendors to order critical spares
- Vessel engineering drawings inventory review
- Assist Marine Engineering Manager on docking projects
Requirements: Working towards a post-secondary degree or diploma with an interest in marine engineering, response readiness or emergency response. Strong written and oral communications ability, and intermediate computer skills including Microsoft 365. Strong attention to detail. Experience with SharePoint/Computerized Maintenance Management System is an asset.
