As marine activity increases on the West Coast, skilled mariners will be in high-demand. Camosun College’s Nautical Training program provides Transport Canada Certified Training for Deck Officers and Masters. Their new state-of-the-art Trades building is open and trades students (including Sheet Metal, Welding and Nautical) now have access to the kind of tools and technologies demanded by industry.
The college is now looking to rejuvenate and re-equip the two existing 40+ year old buildings. All the old trades shops have to be re-equipped to support the hands-on aspect of trades training. To raise funds Camosun has launched the TRADEmark Community Matching fund campaign to support these renovations. The Camosun Foundation will match donations between $50 and $5,000.
