Announcing the winners of our 2018/19 Post-Secondary Scholarship

WCMRC would like to congratulate the recipients of our 2018/19 $1,000 post-secondary scholarships: Roxanne Boyle, Carly Jahelka, and Alyssa Moller.

Roxanne, whose father works for the BC Ministry of Environment as an Emergency Response Officer, is currently attending Concordia University where she studies photography. She has passion for the environment and plans to pursue a career in photojournalism when she graduates.

Carly is studying International Indigenous Studies at the University of Calgary. Her scholarship essay emphasized the need to incorporate Indigenous knowledge into  environmental protection plans. Carly’s father is the Vancouver Island Regional Operations Manager for WCMRC.

Alyssa is completing her first year in the Bachelor of Science program at the University of the Fraser Valley. She intends to transfer to the Bachelor of Environmental Science program at the Simon Fraser University. Her father is the Operations Supervisor at Suncor Energy.
