Since 1998, Western Canada Marine Response (WCMRC) has offered scholarships to students of family members involved in spill response on the West Coast.
This year we will again provide three $1,500 scholarships to students who are enrolled in a post-secondary program for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The selection will be based on the applicant’s academic performance, education and career goals, as well as their community and extracurricular involvement.
To apply, students need to submit a scholarship package to WCMRC by August 15, 2023. The awards will be announced by September 02, 2023. Please note that previous winners will not be eligible and only those selected will be contacted.
Eligibility
Student must be enrolled in a post-secondary program for 2023/2024 and must be an employee, or family member, of one of the following organizations:
- WCMRC Member or Subscriber
- WCMRC Response Contractor
- WCMRC Employee
The scholarship application package should include:
- A completed application form
- A recent transcript or academic report (a scan or photocopy is sufficient)
- An essay (described in the application form)
