Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.
WCMRC is recruiting for a Full-Time Systems Support Coordinator to join our team in Burnaby, BC.
Principal Accountabilities
- Creating meeting and project documentation, project schedules, plans and presentations
- Run project meetings as needed and manage associated documentation
- Manage project documentation through milestones and archive appropriately following project completion
- Manage and take ownership of small projects, as required
- Foster positive communications within the organization, the department, and work teams from a technology standpoint and implement change to communication strategies where needed
- Participate as a key player in the design, configuration, testing, documentation and deployment of both current and proposed applications and migrations
- Identify and communicate ideas for improving software processes; evaluate new solutions and liaise with relevant parties to aid in selection and facilitate any integration
- Work in accordance with all legal requirements, attend and complete all required health and safety training, report all accidents, and take all necessary precautions to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
- Work with key business stakeholders and IT to ensure successful product roll outs and releases
- Arrange and negotiates printers and copiers leases for all base locations
- Create and manage task tracking and monthly reporting on tasks
- Create and manage monthly ticket reporting
- Basic Microsoft administrator skills for purchasing of licenses when and where applicable
- Coordinate any contractor agreements with vendors and suppliers
- Provide training to office staff in head office for SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Zac and any other base systems as needed
- Manage phone systems and coordinate work on such systems
- Assess training needs and coordinate/develop user training sessions material
- Developing and writing technical/application documentation to ensure current guidelines on policies, procedures and processes are available to assist staff with daily responsibilities
- Collaborate with Information Systems Department to research, test and recommend future technologies for development and/or acquisition
- Coordinate purchases including procuring quotes, sending, processing and tracking Purchase Orders (PO) for the department.
- Coordinate work for any purchases including managing timelines and ensuring detailed tasks are completed
- Support tickets and IT staff as needed on their tickets
- Confirm compliance with policies and internal procurement and contracting requirements.
To be successful in this role you will bring a minimum of three years of experience working in an office setting, with previous experience and training in project management in an IT environment, along with the completion of a communications or business-related post-secondary degree or diploma. You will need to be a team player, with excellent communications skills and the ability to coordinate and interact with multiple people and projects. In addition, strong computer skills, basic understanding of networks and infrastructure, and demonstrated experience providing software applications support, is required. A class 5 Driver License is also required.

Salary range: $68,438 – $80,515 annually.
