Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.
WCMRC is hiring a Full-Time Departmental Coordinator to join our Operations team in Burnaby, B.C.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Manages departmental funding requests to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and organizational goals.
- Monitor and analyze monthly variance reports to identify discrepancies.
- Support Operational leadership team in annual business planning and performance activities.
- Maintain and administer Operations SharePoint site.
- Provide analytical support to the Operations Department on various initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and optimize workflows.
- Coordinate internal departmental communications, including drafting internal memos, reports and briefing notes.
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of Operations management conferences.
- Collaborate with all departments to support safety initiatives.
- Lead or participate in various committees, representing the operations department or organization.
- Administer corporate apparel program.
- Work in accordance with company policies and all legal requirements, attend and complete all required health and safety training, report all accidents, and take all necessary precautions to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
To be successful in this role you will have a post-secondary degree or diploma and bring a minimum of 3 years of business experience. Previous experience in emergency planning or response operations would be an asset. In addition, you are a team player able to coordinate and interact with multiple people and projects, and skilled at managing changing and shifting priorities. Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of intermediate to advanced formulas, pivot tables and creating dashboards are required. In addition, advanced expertise in SharePoint, including site creation, management and customization are essential. A Class 5 driver’s license in good standing is also a must have.

Salary range: $56,270 – $66,200 a year.
